Please, Chad, stop it

Posted May. 11 at 10:31 PM

For the most part it's been easy to shrug off Chad Ochocinco's various escapades. Who cares if he changes his name, and what does it matter if he doesn't want to play for the Bengals -- like that makes him special or something?

But his latest plan to ride a bull this weekend, which can best be described as one step short of suicidal, is enough. Joe Reedy's blog at the Cincinnati Enquirer pretty much covers the subject.

"Someone needs to have an intervention with Chad," writes Reedy. "Should he be released, it’s going to be a rough job market out there considering Owens, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Randy Moss are also going to be out there too."

Reedy also notes that if Ochcocinco gets injured in this latest stunt, which seems within the realm of possibility, it will most likely be in violation of his contract. The Bengals are expected to release him before the season anyway, but this will make it easier. Maybe Ochocinco is hoping for that, if he's thinking things through at all.

I actually own Ochcocinco in my dynasty league, and have put him out there for whatever I can get. Oddly, the offers have not come rolling in yet. Maybe, if he gets through the bull riding thing in one piece, it will happen next week.
