Fanex: looking for direction at end of 3rd

Posted May. 26 at 06:24 AM

Below are the results of the Fanex FAD draft so far. I’m on the clock, with 10 hours before I must pick (and then another 12 hours before I must pick another). If you’ve got any bright ideas pass them along.

This is a no-moves league. What you draft is what you get. No lineups – it’s a best-ball league. Teams start one quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, one flex (RB-WR-TE), one kicker and one defense. Scoring system includes 1 point for each reception.

I selected two running backs with 9-letter names back at 1.12 and 2.01, so I’ll need to select at least one wide receiver with these upcoming selections.

Nobody has selected a tight end, kicker or defense yet, and only three quarterbacks have been chosen. But with running backs and wide receivers typically filling six of the starting spots, that’s no surprise.

Thoughts?

IMO best wrs left are Mike Williams of Tampa Bay and Colston of Saints. But Colston had scary surgery so Santonio Holmes, Steve Johnson, and Wes Welker might be better picks. Good opportunity to get Gates too. I'd take mike Wms TBB and Gates or Welker.

I would go with Mike Williams and one of these three: Brees, Gates, Harvin.

Brees, Brady, and Rivers would be where I would go. 3rd round and get an elite QB would be a win. Looks a lot safer bet then whats out there at RB and WR. TE is a position to fill in the 7th or later. top guys have too much age and injury risk ie. gates clark and finley. Maybe Austin Collie if he is concussion free or Brandon Lloyd or Welker.

Don't get Gates. Wait a few rounds and get Jimmy Graham. Guys going to be a superstar.

With three wide receivers needed to start each week, I went with Mike Williams of Tampa Bay with the third round pick. I have another 12 hours to decide on pick 4.01.

I would go QB in the 4th. Take your pick...can't go wrong with Brady v brees. I honestly see the Saints offense being better next year with Ingram and Graham...so I have Brees higher on my board. Teams that don't take J Graham are going to live to regret it. Get him in the 6th or 7th if he is there.

Brees is tempting, but in this format, you really need 4 wide receivers. I went with Dez Bryant. Welker is the other receiver I seriously considered. I'm hoping Bryant will step up in his second year.

I would have gone Stevie and Dez here, for this format. Graham should be waiting when it comes back around, and a decent QB like Eli too.
