If you want to catch a lot of passes – a high percentage of passes – play slot receiver. That’s what the stats show.
Below is a list showing the 13 receivers who caught over 65 percent of passes thrown their way last year. Of this group, all but four were predominantly slot receivers.
Slot receivers tend to run, underneath routes. It figures they’d tend to catch more pass attempts than receivers lining up outside and run predominantly deep pass patterns.

How do we find out who the slot receivers are for each team. If Austin Collie were to get hurt again, would Pierre Garcon take his place. Thanks, Jack Shelbrock

Naw. Garcon is an outside guy. Anthony Gonzalez would take over in the slot.
