Around the NFL
Following a report yesterday that Kenny Britt would probably end up serving a one- or two-game suspension to start the NFL season, Britt used his Facebook page to threaten retirement and blast Roger Goodell. Or did he?
John Glennon of the Tennessean is inclined to doubt Britt was responsible for any of the posts, which were later deleted, and denied by Britt himself. Glennon says it simply doesn't make sense for Britt to do any of those things.
Given Britt's offseason of turmoil, however, which includes a couple of oustanding warrants for his arrest, charges of resisting arrest, and various driving offenses, Britt doing things that don't make sense seems well within the realm of possibility. It would be nice to think that Britt's Facebook page was in fact "hacked," as he contended, but it's a lot easier to believe that he screwed up and then tried to get out of it.
In any case, the guess is that Britt is probably facing a one- or two-game suspension when the league year begins, based on his various arrests (including for things he's already admitted to, like careless driving, and other cases still pending). We'll see if this latest thing turns into anything more, or if Britt is able to get through the summer without getting into any more trouble.
He's a talented guy and Tennessee's clear No. 1 receiver, but he's looking like a risky selection, both for 2011, and beyond.

If it is just 2 games and you can get him a round later because of the suspension, that's a good deal to me.
