I find it remarkable how reluctant Josh Freeman is as a runner. He’s got great ability in that area, but he doesn’t make it a big part of his game.
With his combination of size and speed, Freeman could be another Daunte Culpepper. He could run for a half dozen touchdowns every year if he looked to run the ball in on draws, sneaks and bootlegs in the red zone. But he hasn’t done that.
Freeman, in fact, hasn’t run for any touchdowns in his two years in the pros. He’s now gone 25 straight games without running for a touchdown (which is rare, even for an immobile quarterback).
