Kickers scoring more points

Posted Jul. 08 at 04:23 AM

Kickers keep getting more accurate, and they keep scoring more points. It used to be that 100-point players at this position were relatively easy to obtain; now the bar has been raised to about 110 points.

On average, NFL teams averaged 112 kicking points last year, the 2nd-most ever. The record was set three years ago, when teams averaged 115.8.

More notably, teams have averaged over 107 kicking points six years in a row. Only once before in league history did teams average that many points.
