Passing TDs -- very good but not great

Posted Jul. 22 at 02:01 PM

There was a record number of touchdown passes thrown last year. For the first time ever, six teams finished with 30 or more touchdown passes.

But considering all the scoring, it was surprising there wasn’t a little more greatness. Only one team, for example, finished with more than 33 TDs. In comparison with the last 10 years, only one of the top 13 teams came from last year.

With all the touchdowns being scored, you would have figured that maybe a team would have gone for 40 or at least a couple might have challenged for that mark.
