Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News previews running backs entering the draft in an article published today. He thinks that as many as six may be selected in the first round.
The general consensus in most areas have four running backs in the first round – Darren McFadden and Felix Jones of Arkansas, Rashard Mendenhall of Illinois and Jonathan Stewart of Oregon. But Gosselin – widely considered one of the best football observers in the country – also includes Chris Johnson of East Carolina and Jamaal Charles as possible first-rounders.
Like many others, Gosselin has McFadden is the top back in this draft, followed by Mendenhall, Stewart and Jones (in that order). He has Chris Johnson as the No. 5 back, and Charles at No. 6.
