Deuce McAllister will remain on New Orleans’ roster for at least one more season, according to a report by the Associated Press.
McAllister and the team, according to the Monday report, have reached a deal on a revised contract. Previously, McAllister had been due a $1 million offseason bonus.
Whether the revised deal gives the Saints the flexibility to painlessly release McAllister in August remains to be seen. New Orleans has Reggie Bush, who’s been a disappointment as a pro so far, but it also have Pierre Thomas, who had a solid rookie season. Thomas potentially could make McAllister expendable.
