Fantasy News
The 2007 schedule has been released. All 256 games. It’s available now at www.nfl.com.
There will be two games out of country this year. New Orleans will host San Diego at Wembley stadium in October, and the Bills will host Miami in Toronto in December (that one’s got to annoy Buffalo fans, losing that coveted Dolphins visit).
The Eagles will host the third Thanksgiving Day game; they’ll host the Cardinals (that’s an odd choice, putting that game outdoors in the Eastern Time zone – the game will start at 8:15 pm in Philly). For the other two Thanksgiving Day games, it’s Tennessee at Detroit and Seattle at Dallas.
The showcase game on the schedule may at Nov. 2 matchup between the Patriots and Colts – in Indianapolis, in the Sunday night game. It will be the fourth straight year that those teams will play in week 9.
If you’re looking at week 16, where fantasy championships tend to be settled, the Colts have potentially nasty matchup – at Jacksonville. The Browns could be pretty good that week, if the weather isn’t too bad; they’ll host the Bengals, who were bad on defense last year and now have been gutted in free agency. The Patriots, as part of playing the league’s easiest schedule this year, host Arizona that week.
Washington and the Giants will get things started on Thursday, September 4. The Bears are at the Colts’ new stadium in the first Sunday night game. And two Monday night games in week one – Vikings at Packers and Broncos at Raiders.
