Carson Palmer says he isn’t concerned about Chad Johnson holding out, according to an article in today’s Cincinnati Enquirer. Palmer says he’s spoken to Johnson on the phone, and that the disgruntled wide receiver says he’ll report for training camp.
In hopes of getting a new contract, a trade – or both – Johnson is staying away from voluntary offseason activities. Cincinnati’s other former Oregon State receiver, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, is also staying away from workouts, hoping to get a new deal.
In the article, written by Mark Curnutte, Palmer says he was disappointed to see the Bengals release Chris Henry.
"You thought it might happen, given his track record,” Palmer said. “It's too bad. (Henry is) an amazing talent, and to see him throw it away is tough. He's a good-hearted person. It's just too bad.”
The article appears online at Cincinnati.com.
