The Lions looked like one of the league's true up-and-coming teams this season, particularly down the stretch. The Steelers stumbled over the final month, narrowly sweeping a bad Cleveland team and then losing at Denver in the playoffs. Those trends are also depicted in their fantasy defenses.
Over the last three seasons, the Lions have been the biggest risers in our scoring system, which awards 2 points for sacks and turnovers and 6 points for defensive and special teams touchdowns. The Steelers? Well, a year ago they had the No. 2 fantasy defense in that scoring system, but in 2011 they were at nearly the other end of the spectrum.
