Around the NFL
The Lions lead the league in forecasting.
Jon Kitna says the team is going to win 10 games – just like he promised last year. Tatum Bell says he’s going to run for 1,300 yards. And now Calvin Johnson is jumping into they fray.
"I had almost 800 yards last year and I'm not saying I could double that, but I can put up 1,200 yards." Johnson says. "I did that in college in 14 games. I expect the highest out of myself, and I put big numbers in front of myself as goals. I'll get 1,000 yards, no doubt."
Johnson says he was never healthy last year after landing hard on his back in the team’s third game. For the rest of the season, he says, he had to take Vicodin pain-killers on game days.
Tom Kowalski has the story in an article that appears today at mlive.com.
