Harvin / wide receivers rushing

Posted Feb. 29 at 09:27 AM

With Percy Harvin of the Vikings, you have to factor in his production as a runner. Three years he’s been in the league, and in each of those seasons he’s run for over 100 yards.

He ran for 345 yards last year. That’s the 2nd-most by any wide receiver in the last 10 years. Minnesota has Adrian Peterson coming back from a major knee surgery, so I’m figuring theuy’ve probably get Harvin about 50 touches as a runner again this season.

The chart below shows all wide receivers with 80 or more rushing yards in a season. Two other receivers from 2011 are on this list – Brad Smith and Nate Burleson.

Three receivers appear on this list three times. Brad Smith is on it five times (four of those were when he was with the Jets). Harvin and DeSean Jackson are both on there three times.
