Kansas City / 100-yard runners

Posted Mar. 18 at 10:46 AM

Kansas City moved to improve its offensive line yesterday signing Eric Winston. He played right tackle last year for Houston, helping that team put together a great running game.

Kansas City also has added Peyton Hillis, and it has Jamaal Charles coming back from a knee injury. Things are looking up, it seems, for this team’s running game.

It’s a franchise that has a history of running the ball well. Over the last 10 years, in fact, Kansas City has had more runners go over the 100-yard mark than any other team.

Note: there have been 1,406 100-yard games in the last 10 years. That’s out of 5,120 games total – so about one out of four. There’s about a 27 percent chance each week that a team’s featured runner will go over 100 yards.
