Factoid
Dennis Allen takes over in Oakland. High on his to-do list: fix the team’s run defense.
The Raiders, and this is remarkable, haven’t had a top-20 run defense since their Super Bowl season. Nine straight years. In every season since 2004, they haven’t ranked any higher than 25th.
In this nine-year run of futility, the Raiders have allowed 19 more rushing touchdowns than any team (175 in 144 games). They’ve also allowed 258 more rushing yards than any other team (an average of 142 per game).
