Around the NFL
The Dolphins already have Jake Long under contract, but they’re still going to be a significant factor in Saturday’s draft. They hold the first pick of the second round, and they may wind up with another first-round pick as well – they’re trying to trade Jason Taylor.
The Dolphins, according to an article in today’s Miami Herald, have a good chance of selecting a quarterback with that 32nd overall pick – Chad Henne, Joe Flacco or Brian Brohm. That guy would come in and compete with John Beck in the next few years.
There is a typo, by the way, in this column. It cites Jason Campbell as an example of a quarterback selected after the first round. But Campbell was selected 25th overall in 2005, one pick after Aaron Rodgers was chosen by Green Bay.
The complete article can be seen at the Miami Herald website.
