Factoid
Doing some scouting work on Victor Cruz, I am reminded how outstanding he was last year. Once they put him in the starting lineup, he averaged 109 receiving yards per game, the most by anyone in 11 years.
He caught 82 passes, but he also averaged 18.7 yards per catch. That’s rare – for a receiver to catch 80-plus passes and still consistently get open for big plays downfield.
In the history of the league, in fact, only a handful of players have both caught 80-plus passes and averaged over 17 yards per catch.
