Around the NFL
The Raiders say they will release Dominic Rhodes, according to ESPN’s John Clayton. But they haven’t yet unloaded LaMont Jordan (who also probably won’t be on their opening day rosters).
These veterans became expendable when Oakland selected Darren McFadden with the fourth pick. The team also has Justin Fargas, who played well last year, and last year’s fourth-rounder, Michael Bush.
Rhodes (and probably Jordan as well) should compete for a backup with some team.
