Britt latest in bad week for DUIs

Posted Jul. 20 at 11:28 AM

First Marshawn Lynch, then Robert Quinn, and now Kenny Britt. With training camps set to open in roughly a week, several NFL players are having teams wish they'd started the preseason even earlier.

Britt was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated this morning, according to a report. Britt has a lengthy list of arrests -- seven now since being drafted in 2009 -- and seems certain to face suspension.

It also came out this week that Britt had undergone another knee surgery recently -- so, three since last October. Last week we were debating on the website whether the magazine was too low on Britt. In light of these new developments, we'll probably turn out to have ranked him too favorably.

One player's troubles are another's opportunity, so go ahead and move rookie Kendall Wright up your draft board. He's the likely candidate to replace Britt across from Nate Washington, should Britt miss any time. Which appears pretty likely.

This is where I disagree. Unless you believe Kendall Wright is a solid play every week, you're simply obtaining the best option on a particular team,ie another Greg Little. The way I'm playing this is that I get Britt for cheap and stash him on my bench,so when the meaningful games roll around at playoff time, I have a potential beast

I am not suggesting to draft Wright first, but as a talented.guy who moves from a likely No. 3 to possible starter, there is late-round appeal there.
