Russell Wilson's big preseason

Posted Aug. 29 at 09:57 AM

Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. Those are the only quarterbacks in the last five years who have put up better numbers than Russell Wilson.

Oh. And Brett Ratliff; he did it too.

Wilson has been pretty remarkable running Seattle’s offense. He looks like the real deal. 67 percent, a 5-1 ratio of TDs to interceptions and a passing rating of 119.4.

If you look at the preseason numbers for the last five seasons, most of the guys who’ve put up good numbers are the same guys who play well in the real games. Philip Rivers, Jay Cutler and Matt Schaub are also on there.

But there are some notable exceptions. Ratliff. Richard Bartel. Luke McCown. Kellen Clemens.

Below is the list of all quarterbacks since 2006 who’ve finished with passer ratings over 100. To qualify, a quarterback must have attempted at least 40 passes. And I do not have access to the 2009 preseason numbers. But you get the idea.
