Factoid
The Lions are at San Francisco this week. That’s seemingly a crusher for Matthew Stafford – not only playing a great defense, but doing it on the road.
But should fantasy leaguers who spent a second or third round pick on Stafford actually sit him down?
The numbers suggest no. As tough as the 49ers play against the run, opponents tend to pass a lot against them. And even a great defense like San Francisco will have its hands full trying to contain Stafford for a full 60 minutes.
When these teams played last year, Stafford passed for 293 yards and 2 TDs. In fact, in all eight of their games against elite quarterbacks since the start of last year, San Francisco has allowed over 290 passing yards. All but one of those quarterbacks threw at least 2 TDs.
