Denver's changing schedule

Posted Oct. 09 at 10:12 AM

Last night, I pointed out the Broncos had played one of the hardest schedules so far (with their three losses against the Falcons, Texans and Patriots). But check out the numbers below. They show the remaining strength of schedule.

The Broncos’ remaining schedule – their final 11 games – are against teams that are currently 19-34. That’s the worst in the league. So Denver’s schedule, in essence, goes from being one of the hardest to one of the easiest.

They look like the frontrunners in the wide-open AFC West (though the Chargers can land a big punch in that fight; they host Denver on Monday night).

The overall numbers for all teams are below. In general, the AFC West teams project to play the easiest schedules in the final 12 weeks of the season.

The NFC West and the NFC North project to play the hardest schedules (because those divisions have done well so far). Of the nine projected hardest schedules, eight belong to those divisions.

The Giants entered the season projecting to play the hardest schedule overall, and they’re still in that mix.

Nice to see the Broncos and Falcons both in the top 4. Looks like there may be some good performances to look forward to from my starting QB's.
