Matty Nice

Our SuperLeague competition rolls onward, and my team has made a nice comeback from its disastrous Week 2. I'm now up to 196th out of 1063 competitors, which would probably get me a free ping pong ball with a smiley face on it if this were a child's birthday party.

In any case, things are looking up, and a few more weeks of good performances and perhaps I'll make it into double-digits. Let's look at this week's lineup.

Quarterbacks: Matt Ryan and Ben Roethlisberger. Drew Brees is on a bye, Aaron Rodgers faces the Texans, and Tom Brady is in Seattle. Ryan is an easy choice at home against an awful Raiders defense, and Roethlisberger is my sneaky pick against a Titans defense that likes to shove opposing runners and receivers into the end zone rather than tackle them.

Running Backs: Arian Foster and Trent Richardson. Foster is the whole story for the Texans with Ben Tate hurt, while Richardson should be very good at home against the Bengals. Ryan Mathews is another possibility.

Wide Receivers: Roddy White, Antonio Brown and Percy Harvin. I considered Harvin last week and think I switched away from him, costing me some points. Brown faces that inept Titans defense, while it's White's turn for a big game for Atlanta. Larry Fitzgerald is a guy I considered.

Tight Ends: Heath Miller and Tony Gonzalez. It's the matchups. Maybe I'm going too heavy with players from those same Pittsburgh and Atlanta teams, but I'll take my chances.

Kickers: Matt Bryant and David Akers. Will Bryant only be kicking extra points? That's the risk here. I like going with home teams I expect to win in this category.

Good luck Andy, but as someone who played in challenge contests for many years, it is tough to come back from a bad start. If you get a minute, I would appreciate it if you could address my question posted to Monday's column earlier today. Thanks

Andy, you weren't the only one with a disastrous week 2. I went to check my score Monday evening and saw that I had 0 pts. After double checking, I realized I didn't submit a lineup. Seeing as how the MNF game hadn't started yet, I was able to set a lineup with all Denver and Atlanta players. Not exactly ideal, but it beats 0 pts.

Q.B on a bye My other choices are Hasselback or Weeden Who would be better to throw T.D.
