Donald Brown has undergone arthroscopic knee surgery. He's expected to miss 2-3 weeks.
This will change the rankings for the Colts running backs this week, and the corrected numbers will be posted when the revised version goes out on Friday. Vick Ballard moves into the starting lineup, and he could be surprisingly effective against a Jets defense that's struggled against the run.
Ballard isn't as fast a Brown and isn't as good as a pass catcher, but he runs with more power and is a better tackle breaker. In a ballpark sense, he will appear slightly higher on Friday than where we originally placed Brown. Definitely a spot or two higher than Brown in a standard scoring or TD-only format, and about the same in a PPR league.

Why was he listed as the No.20 RB in the first place? He was hurt on the last play of the game Sunday and should have been placed accordingly. Does this mean Dick Balls gets to be a top 20 back now?

I'm referring to the Re-Drafter rankings, not your weekly rankings

I didn't hear until today that Donald Brown was hurt in the Packers game. He looked fine on the final play, punching in a 2-point conversion, then dancing a little jig and jogging off the field. Apparently something got tweaked somewhere along the line. I think they'll be fine short term with Ballard. If Ballard plays well, it may be more of a committee-type deal in November and December.

Some of us have our waivers tonight... do you think Ballard should be ranked higher this week than the Arizona RB's or the GB RB's?? Thanks.

sorry, just got it - two spots higher than Brown was in a standard league. Thanks.

Well, in one of my leagues I am very short on RB this week and will stick with Vick Ballard this week. Hopefully he can do a little more than last week, pretty pedestrian.
