Inactives for early games

Posted Oct. 28 at 09:34 AM

The inactives for the early games are posted at NFL.com. There are some notable names/developements on there.

Trent Richardson (ribs) is active. There's some risk there -- maybe he's hurting and plays less than usual. Maybe they pull him early. But go ahead and use Richardson, is the general recommendation. Browns won't have Mohamed Massaquoi this week (so it's definitely Josh Gordon and Greg Little at wide receiver).

Donald Brown (knee) is active. He'll apparently start for the Colts, with Vick Ballard moving back to a sub role.

Both Rashard Mendenhall and Isaac Redman are inactive, so Steelers definitely are starting Jonathan Dwyer at tailback. Dwyer should be pretty much a full-time guy, with Chris Rainey and Baron Batch spelling him just a little.

Jordy Nelson won't play. This makes us very interested this week in Randall Cobb, James Jones and Jermichael Finley. Maybe helps Alex Green some as well. And Donald Driver if you're in a large league.

Joe McKnight is active to back up Shonn Greene.

Eddie Royal won't play for the Chargers.

Danny Amendola is inactive. No surprise.

The Rams won't have Roger Saffold or Wayne Hunter. So for a left tackle, I'm guessing Jeff Fisher is walking around Trafalgar Square, asking whatever big guys he can find if they know how to play American Football.

Blaine Gabbert is active for Jacksonville. MJD and Laurent Robinson are not.

Seahawks won't have Doug Baldwin, which is no surprise, but Braylon Edwards also won't play. Looks like Ben Obomanu will be the No. 3 there. They're been using Edwards on some lob passes into the end zone. With him out, it benefits Golden Tate and Sidney Rice (they're not more likely to see those balls).
