Brandon Marshall's big season

Posted Nov. 12 at 12:03 PM

Brandon Marshall is putting together a heck of season. He’s been historically good.

The Bears have played nine games, and in those games, he’s accounted for 47 percent of their receiving yardage. That’s a number we haven’t seen in recent history.

In the last 30 years, nobody else has reached 45 percent. Very few have gone over 40 percent, and those tend to be the dominant, butt-kicking receivers.

Marshall has also caught 7 of the Bears’ 12 TD passes.

I got in an argument with a reader back in August. He was disappointed that I had ranked Dez Bryant higher than Marshall on my draft board. Looks like the reader is going to win that one.

I agree that he's having a heck of a season but if you watch them play, he's pretty much the only receiver Cutler (and even Campbell last night) looks for. Maybe defenses should do a better job of covering him.
