Fanex update: Ian drafts a player (finally)

Posted May. 16 at 08:34 PM

After trading six draft picks, I’ve finally selected a player for the first time. (I also have Steven Jackson, but I traded for him after he was selected by another team). My player: WR Andre Johnson of the Texans. I believe he’s a safe bet to catch 90-plus passes and 8-9-10 TDs, making him a valuable commodity in this scoring system.

Johnson missed seven games last year, but I don’t consider him to be an injury risk. Looks like a very safe option in this scoring system. He averaged a league-high 95 receiving yards per game last year, with 8 TDs in nine games.

Had I not traded away pick 2.05 way back when, my pick would have been Reggie Wayne. I consider Johnson to be almost interchangeable with Wayne, and my doing a couple of trade downs, I’ve been able to change my late seventh-round pick into an early fifth-round pick. It should work out well.

Teams start 3 WR, 2 RB, QB, TE, PK, DEF and one flex (WR-RB-TE) player. 18-man rosters. No waiver moves. No lineups (it's a best-ball format). High score after 17 NFL weeks wins.
