We’ve got a fantasy quote of the day. Actually, two of them – from Jon Gruden and Warrick Dunn in Tampa Bay, talking about the veteran’s potential role with the team. They appear in a story in today’s Tampa Tribune.
Dunn is 33 years old and weighs less than 190 pounds (he was listed at 180 for years but got bumped up to 187 last season), but he says he intends to be more than a part-time player for the Bucs.
"I would never consider myself a third-down back. It's not my mentality. I don't play the game that way," Dunn says. "I don't think Coach Jon Gruden brought me here just to play on third down. He believes in me, and I just have to go out and prove it."
Says Gruden: "I see him as being a front-line guy. He is going to play a lot."
Our take? Dunn is going to be the team’s third-down back.
