Darrell Duke of Spring, Texas wins the Fantasy Index Subscribers SuperLeague

Posted Jan. 02 at 04:00 PM

Congratulations to Darrell Duke of Spring, Texas, who led the Fantasy Index Subscribers SuperLeague almost wire to wire. Darrell wins a prize package including a 2012 Super Fanatic Package (every football newsletter we publish, before and during the season), and he'll appear in next year's edition of Fantasy Football Index magazine.

The Super League champion gets to choose between participating in our annual Experts Poll and one of our Experts Mock Drafts; the runner-up -- Hank DaBruzzi of Oakdale, Minn. -- will also appear in the Experts Poll or one of our Experts Mock Drafts -- whichever Darrell doesn't choose.

The complete standings are accessible online.

Bill, can you tell us about the origin of your team name, "Fantasy Teams are People, My Friend"?

Congrats to the winner and Top 10! Thanks to FFI - this is a fun contest - please keep it going!

It's just a play on Mitt's infamous comment, "Corporations are people, my friend". I often feel about my fantasy teams the same way Mitt seems to feel about corporations - that we need to defend their right to exist. (So extending the metaphor, does that make my wife Harry Reid?) Anyway, much appreciate the shout-out in the top team names. For some reason that means more to me than the top ten score!
