A few more picks have trickled in on the Fanex Draft.
I decided to go with a running back in the sixth round: Kevin Smith of the Lions. I have two running backs, but one of them (Matt Forte) isn’t 100 percent certain to start on opening day. And injuries do occur throughout the season; Smith gives me another Forte-type option at that position. I expect he’ll lead the Lions in rushing.
I heard John Clayton on the radio this weekend, by the way. He was saying that Kevin Smith was a running back that the Seahawks were very interested in. Not necessarily that they would have picked him in the third round, but he was a player they were looking at.
It was appropriate that the Lions draft Smith, since had the most rushing yards in a season by any Division I college player since Barry Sanders.
