Flacco / winning playoff games on the road

Posted Jan. 20 at 09:16 AM

We tend to think of Joe Flacco as a good quarterback, but not a great one. He’s not up there with the likes of Brady, Brees or Rodgers, and he’s not in the same class as guys like Dan Fouts, Dan Marino and Warren Moon.

But Flacco has won playoff games, and he’s done it on the road. That’s not easy.

He’s won five games on the road, which ties Roger Staubach and Eli Manning for the most in NFL history. (OK, OK, I hear you snickering – it’s also just one more than Mark Sanchez.)

But whatever. Five playoff wins on the road. Dan Marino, Warren Moon, Ken Stabler and Joe Montana combined won 5 playoff games on the road (that group went 5-20 on the road in playoff games.

Here’s the list of all quarterbacks who’ve started at least five games on the road in league history.
