Lane Kiffin says he believes Javon Walker won’t be limited in training camp because of injuries suffered in a robbery in Las Vegas earlier this week.
"The info that I have is he's going to be fine," said Kiffin in an Associated Press story. "Training camp won't be an issue."
In the article, Kiffin said that Walker will fly to Oakland today and attend a team session tomorrow (without, of course, being in uniform).
The Associated Press story is posted at various spots on the web including here.
Earlier in the day, Walker agreed to an interview that turned bizarre. He says that he was attacked not on the street but in his hotel room.
"I was just back at my room, and at about 5:30 in the morning, I got a knock at the door," TheDirty.Com quotes Walker as saying. "I opened it, and three guys with guns were there. They cracked me in the head a few times, knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had; my watch, money, everything. Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street. That's what happened."
But if the guys were robbing Walker and knocked him unconscious, why would they then carry him through a hotel and put him in a car? Why wouldn’t they just leave him in his room?
A summary of that story can be found at theLas Vegas Review Journal.
