Around the NFL
Brandon Marshall had the “McDonald’s bag incident” earlier in the offseason, with his arm going through a TV set after a wrestling match with his brother. That’s not going to prevent him from being 100 percent healthy when training camp starts.
Marshall, however, may be in trouble with the league after getting arrested on March 6 – his third arrest within a year and his second involving a domestic dispute. He was charged with misdemeanor battery this time; not a huge deal, but perhaps enough to trigger an NFL suspension.
Lindsay Jones of The Denver Post reports today that NFL spokesman Greg Aiello says the league in looking into this latest arrest.
In this case, Marshall’s girlfriend charges that he hit her in the mouth and left eye. Jones also was able to get a hold of Marshall’s attorney. “We view this situation as a shakedown, nothing more nothing less,” says Harvey Steinberg.
Marshall caught 102 passes last year, including a league-high 57 during the second half of the season. If he were to miss a game or two via a suspension, it would creat the opportunity for another receiver to move into more of a featured role. Brandon Stokley, Darrell Jackson and Keary Colbert appear to be the team’s best other wide receivers.
Jones’ article can be accessed at the website of The Denver Post.

I have liked Marshall going into this year, as a solid #2. Is he still worth the shot to pick #2 WR (round 3-5) and find a fill in after his suspension? Or maybe just wait & see if he drops to about 6-7 round?

I don't think there's any way he'll be suspended for more than two games. I'm not sure he'll be suspended at all -- I think the league will sit back and see how this latest charge develops. So I would not let him fall out of the top 12 at wide receiver. I think he'll be very good.
