Off-field incidents piling up for Marshall

Posted Jun. 29 at 03:11 AM

It’s starting to look less likely that Brandon Marshall is going to start 16 games this season. The Denver Post today has published a lengthy article documenting Marshall’s extensive off-field problems.

Marshall, according to the article, has been involved in nine different incidents that resulted police attention since the end of the 2006 season. And that doesn’t include the infamous McDonald’s bag incident, in which Marshall claimed to have slipped and put his arm through a television set and later changed that story to having been wrestling with his brother – and given the number of domestic violence issues he’s been involved with, I don’t have a lot of confidence in the wrestling story.

Marshall isn’t in any immediate trouble for now, but a league suspension could be in his future. He just can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

Potential winners: Brandon Stokley, Darrell Jackson and Tony Scheffler, who would catch more balls if Marshall wasn’t around. Potential loser: Jay Cutler, who might lose his only big-time receiving threat.

Marshall led the entire NFL with 57 receptions during the second half of last year.

This article was written by Lindsay H. Jones. It can be seen at the website of The Denver Post.

So how does this affect your current rankings of Marshall and Cutler? Both were awfully high in the new Mag. Thanks.
