It’s looking like you can go ahead an revise your draft board: Brett Favre wants to come back.
He sent a letter to the team via overnight mail stating as much, according to a report by Chris Mortensen of ESPN. But the letter doesn’t indicate that Favre wants to play for the Packers. Instead, according to this report, Favre has asked to be released out of his contract, which would free him to play with any team.
“The Packers have been reluctant to embrace his return,” writes Mortensen. “Favre was reminded by the Packers' brass that the quarterback said publicly and privately in March that he wasn't 100 percent committed to football.” That’s why, according to this report, that Favre is asking not be reinstated with the Packers but to be simply released.
Hard to imagine, however, that Green Bay would simply let Favre go. It would be a nightmare to have him wind up inside the division with the Vikings or Bears. Probably the two other most likely landing spots would be Carolina and Tampa Bay. The Ravens, Dolphins, Jets and Bills, I suppose, also would be interested in his services.

I don't know the money situation in Minnesota, but that would be a great opportunity also. Favre would make the opposing defenses "stacking" the box against A.Peterson damn near impossible, plus a Defense on the upswing would definitely make the Vikings contenders.......Then again, being a lifelong 49er fan , we'll take him.
