The Bears have signed Kevin Jones.
Not a huge deal. Matt Forte still looks like the team’s likely starter. Jones just gives the team another potential option. Jones likely will come in ahead of Adrian Peterson on the team’s depth chart. Maybe if Forte is slow to pick things up, Jones will be the opening day starter.
Jones spent the first four years of his career with the Lions, so there’s also that added dimension for two games per season. No doubt Jones would like to stick it to his former employer, so the Bears might give him slightly more work in those games.
