Brett Favre won’t show up in Green Bay for at least a couple of days.
The Packers don’t want Favre back, and he would prefer to go to a new team. The best way for him to force his way off Green Bay’s roster is to show up – sign he has a $12 million salary for 2008.
“Ted Thompson asked if I would give him a couple of days to try to get the situation resolved,” Favre said in a story by Peter King of SI.com. “I agreed to do that. I don't want to be a distraction to the Packers, and I hope in the next few days we can come to an agreement that would allow me to continue playing football.”
Sounds like Favre will be at a new address before the week is over. He’s talked with the Vikings, and the Packers have had trade discussions with the Bucs and Jets.
Earlier this week, Favre met with commissioner Roger Goodell and told him we would prefer to be released, rather than traded.
