How many carries will Marion Barber get this year, as he moves from a backup to a starter in Dallas?
Jim Reeves of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram takes a look at Barber today, and he believes that Barber's carries will expand significantly.
“With a stiff-arm like a battering ram and a helmet-down, leg-churning style, Barber could see 80 percent or even more of the running plays this season, depending on how quickly rookie running backs Felix Jones and Tashard Choice develop as change-of-pace alternatives,” Reeves writes.
Now, 80 percent is a big number. Only one running back in the league (Edgerrin James) had over 80 percent of his team’s rushing yards. So we’re not promising Barber will handle that kind of a workload. But one writer in the Dallas area is excited about him.
