Around the NFL
If the Cardinals have any intention of trading Anquan Boldin, Philadelphia’s interest just went up. Andy Reid announced today that Kevin Curtis will need surgery for a sports hernia, which will sideline him for a significant period of time.
The Eagles are already without Reggie Brown, who injured a hamstring in their last preseason game. Both of those injuries – the hernia and the hamstring – can be the nagging type that take substantial time to heal. The Eagles know this as well as any team, after watching L.J. Smith gimp through all of last season.
Philadelphia, it seems, would love to get its hands on Boldin. And it’s clear their second-round pick, DeSean Jackson, is going to play a big role.
The Curtis injury was reported by the Philadelphia Daily News.

I will be curious to see how far this slips him down the cheat sheet ... he was a personal favorite of mine. Does this elevate DeSean Jackson's value now? One would have to think so!
