Around the NFL
The Raiders have some injury issues (as well as a bunch of other issues) heading into their week 4 game against San Diego.
Nnamdi Asomugha, one of the best cornerbacks in the league, revealed Friday that he has a broken bone in his elbow. He’s being called a game-time decision, but the Raiders can’t count on him playing at a high level. That’s a big bonus for the Chargers passing game, particularly with red-hot Philip Rivers trying to become the fourth quarterback ever to throw 3-plus TD passes in each of the first four games of the season.
And running back Darren McFadden is battling a turf toe injury. He played last week and almost certainly will start on Sunday, but he’s definitely not 100 percent.
An article in today’s San Francisco Chronicle speculates that “if Kiffin doesn't like what he sees, he'll pull McFadden and use Michael Bush with fullback Justin Griffith as his backup.”
Fantasy leaguers, it seems, should use caution when considering whether to use McFadden.
