Next kicker to be released?
Could be David Akers of the Eagles. He’s been stuck in a rut, and he can’t seem to get out of it.
Akers missed a 50-yard field goal against Washington that was pivotal in turning a potential win into a loss. And as is pointed out in an article by the Philadelphia Daily News, Akers has now missed nine consecutive field goal attempts from 45-plus yards.
This isn’t a couple of games; this is problem that’s been around for 50 games. In each of the last three years, Akers has converted no better than 78 percent of his field goal attempts. He just doesn’t seem to have it anymore, and the Eagles should have moved to replace him in August.

I sure hope so. I am an Eagles fan and I am tired of watching Akers miss field goals that he used to hit easily. I think it's time to get a young kicker with a fresh leg. Akers, thank you for your services, but your time here must come to an end.
