The Bengals are considering benching Chris Perry, says a story in today’s Dayton Daily News.
The former first-round pick has been able to stay healthy for the first time this season, but he hasn’t been productive. He’s averaging only 2.6 yards per carry and 42 yards per game. And despite being heralded as a great pass catcher, he’s averaged only 3.4 yards on his 14 receptions.
Cincinnati’s other options at the position include Cedric Benson and Kenny Watson.
"We're going to look at all that," Marvin Lewis said after Sunday’s loss to the Jets. "We need to look at it and take a hard look, and see what's the best thing for us to go forward.”
