Around the NFL
Jonathan Stewart has a chance to play tomorrow.
Because of heel injury, Stewart didn’t practice at all on Wednesday or Thursday, according to the NFL injury report. But after the team arrived in Oakland on Friday, Stewart participated fully in a light workout, according to a blog of The Charlotte Observer.
The paper says that Stewart will be a game-time decision. Normally, Stewart and DeAngelo Williams split the carries fairly evenly. For this game, Stewart is more likely to see a smaller workload – if he plays at all. If Stewart sits, the Panthers would plug Nick Goings into their No. 2 tailback role (but Goings is a limited back and wouldn’t project to get more than just a few touches).
