*Another option is to allow four teams into the playoffs, but that would require teams to play in week 17, when numerous NFL teams rest players. If a four-team playoff format is desired, we recommend instead eliminating week 15 of the regular season.

**Another option is to go baseball style, splitting the 16-team league into two conferences. In that format, teams play teams in their on conference twice in a 14-week season. The top two teams meet in Conference Championship games in week 15, and the two winners meet in the title game in week 16.
