Trio of tackles atop the draft?

Quarterbacks and left tackles; those are the coveted players in the NFL Draft. Since Peyton Manning in 1998, a quarterback has been taken with the first pick 12 times in 15 years. Jake Long and a pair of defensive ends when in the other two years, while this year will almost certainly be another offensive tackle.

Less certain is which one. Texas A&M's Luke Joeckel to Kansas City is the popular choice, but there's some growing support for Central Michigan's Eric Fisher. NFL Network's Mike Mayock puts Fisher No. 1 in his latest rankings, and he's not alone.

No one is really sure what Jacksonville will do with the 2nd overall pick, but the two tackles could go in those spots, whether to the teams currently picking there, or someone else after a trade down. And then a third tackle, Oklahoma's Lane Johnson, has entered the discussion as a top pick, perhaps as early as 5 or 7. Lots of teams at the top of the draft have tackle needs, including Detroit at 5 and Arizona at 7.

These aren't the players fantasy coaches think a lot about, but all of those offenses will be better if they secure a top player at the tackle position.

Draft is less than three weeks away.
