Congratulations to Brent Miles of Pasco, WA for taking the top overall spot in our season long rankings contest!
Brent made his best picks at two vital positions. He managed to get the 13th highest score at wide receiver and finished 14th at tight end. With over 1200 entries even his lowest scores in the low 200s are pretty good. In the end he squeaked out an incredibly narrow victory by just 33 points against a score of nearly 360,000.
To get a handle on the contest the following tables show the actual top 20 finishers in the NFL season, alongside Team Miles and the teams that took the top spot at each position. The numbers next to the players’ name denote how far off that players actual finish the ranking is. For example, if a manager ranked Alvin Kamara as the RB14, when he finished as the RB46, that pick was 32 spots too high, hence “Alvin Kamara (+32). A negative number denotes that the player finished that many spots above where they were picked
Quarterback was a crazy position this year. It may have been easier to predict Joe Burrow injury than Lamar Jackson’s fall from near back-to-back MVPs to QB20, but that doesn’t mean it was easy! The top QB score in this year’s Open comes from Bill Vossos or Munster, IN. Take a look at how his rankings stack up to the Champ and the actual results:

The top running back score comes from Mark Adams of St. Paul, MN. Mark’s team “Moonlighters” selected 17 of the 20 top scoring backs to take the top spot. The overall champ finished 211th at the position. Kamara may have been the biggest stumbling block here but Bucky Irving, Chuba Hubbard, James Conner and Omarion Hampton derailed plenty of teams as well. Here’s a look at how the top picks stacked up against the actual results:

Wide Receiver was one of our Champ’s best positions but it was still a well-stocked minefield in 2025. Injuries to Malik Nabers, Marvin Harrison and Garrett Wilson hit hard but many players just underperformed. Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, and Brian Thomas were ranked in nearly everyone’s top 20 but the NFL gods had different plans. The top WR score come from Ronald Giorgianni from Mickelton, NJ and his team, “Fighting Gyphins”. Take a look at how his rankings, and our Champ Brent Miles, stack up to the final results:

Tight end was another tough position this year. Tucker Kraft and Sam LaPorta were sidelined early with injuries. Others like George Kittle, David Njoku and T.J. Hockenson dealt with their own injuries or those to their quarterback and fell short of expectations to some degree. Our Champ managed a top score here as well but Scott Porter from Louisville, KY and his team, “SCOTT P.” took the top spot. Take a look at their rankings:

And so another year of the competition comes to an end, and a new Champion is crowned. I want to mention the top scorer at the DST position, Peter Zelle of Saint Paul, MN and his team “Pzizzle”. That’s two position groups won by managers from St. Paul, there must be something in the water up there. The top kicker score came from a name you’re sure to have seen if you play the FI Blackout. The man, the myth, the legend, “Whoops Eiferted” aka Frank Read from Cranberry Township, PA. Congratulations to all the winners, especially the overall champ, Brent Miles. I hope you all had fun playing along this season and I hope you see you all back again next year.
