Quality of teams relative to schedule

Denver, Green Bay and Seattle have the offenses that have played the best relative to their schedules. Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh and Oakland -- they've been the worst.

This is per request of a reader. Scott in Milwaukee wanted to know how teams have played relative to the tough defenses they've faced.

Denver, not surprisingly, is No. 1. They're averaging almost almost 43 points per game. Those same opponents have allowed an average of only 22 points in their other games. The Packers, Seahawks and Bears are all scoring about 30 percent more points than their schedules indicate they should -- those offenses are good.

At the other end of the scale, a half dozen teams are scoring under 80 percent as many points as what scheduling suggest. Cleveland, for example, is scoring almost 19 points per game, which doesn't seem terrible. But those same opponents have allowed over 24 points per game when playing other competition.
