Lynch settles DUI case

Marshawn Lynch, arrested for DUI back in 2012, has settled the case by pleading guilty to reckless driving. That ensures the case won't drag out any further in the courts, but it doesn't mean he'll necessarily avoid a league suspension.

Lynch's agent, for what it's worth, thinks he will avoid a suspension. To hear him talk, they just wanted to avoid a public trial, and wanted to settle to put the issue behind Lynch.

We'll see. This isn't Lynch's first off-field issue; he was suspended for three games back in 2009 for a gun-related issue. It's certainly possible this plea, albeit to a lesser charge than DUI, will result in him missing a game or two at the start of next season.

The battle between Robert Turbin and Christine Michael to back Lynch up in 2014 was already going to be interesting; this could just make it even moreso. One of those guys might be in the starting lineup for Seattle in Week 1.
