He's 30, so he could have a few decent years left, physically.
But Holmes may be too much of a headache to interest most teams. He can be a pain in the ass, apparently. The Steelers, recall, opted to trade him away rather than give him a big contract.
Last year he caught only 39 percent of the passes thrown his way. That was the worst of every receiver in the league who saw at least 50 passes -- and there were 90 of them.
The Jets would have cut him last year if his contract were structured differently.
I expect some team will sign him for close to the league minimum -- probably a deal with a lot of incentive bonuses involved, so Holmes can get paid more if he behaves and plays up to his potential.
